The MAIB's scheme provides certain benefits to motor accident victims regardless of whose fault the accident may be. These are called no fault benefits. All claims for no fault benefits are processed in accordance with the provisions of the Motor Accidents (Liabilities and Compensation) Act 1973. In addition to no fault benefits, some motor accident victims are entitled to claim damages for personal injuries they suffer as a result of the accident.
